Navmap THE RIVERSIDE CHARM:
THE RESTORATION...
Riverside History

For many years it seemed that the brisk tourist trade of Cambridge Springs was gone forever. An energetic group of people thought otherwise however, and a few years ago began to revive interest in the Cambridge Springs area. They began by restoring the Riverside Inn and Hotel to its original splendor. This time its "fountain of youth" was a combination of quiet, country atmosphere, outstanding recreation facilities and exceptional cuisine.

These efforts have been so successful that visitors are again traveling from Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo areas to Cambridge Springs.

INN REFURBISHED

Michael and Marie Halliday became the Inn's new owners in the fall of '85. With an appreciation for its historical value, they have tackled the mammoth job of restoration. The charm and beauty of the Inn will be a lasting heritage for generations to come.

THE VICTORIAN ERA REVIVED

The restorers of the Riverside are so meticulous in recreating everything that the aura of Victorian times is extremely well preserved. As you enter the lobby, a caged cashier's window of frosted glass, a gleaming marble counter, and antique fixtures greet you with Victorian peacefulness.

The guest rooms, each with bath and/or shower provide comfortable rest to the "city-weary."

The expansive and gracious ballroom is now the setting for wedding receptions, banquets and meetings. A picturesque veranda, invites you to enjoy a cool summer evening with fresh air and crickets for accompaniment.

In keeping with the era in which it was built, the hotel has no televisions or telephones in the guest bedrooms, and also there is no elevator for the second and third floors.

In this superficial age when the cheap and common are hidden under a thin veneer of sparkle and gloss, Riverside Inn is a welcome contrast. You get the feeling you have stepped into another world...and you have.

We offer fine dining in the beautiful Concord Dining Room, the Riverside Lounge, several smaller dining rooms for parties and meetings, a Grand Ballroom for larger events and a great Dinner Theatre, located in the newly renovated Victorian Room. We cater to special dinners, receptions, reunions and business meetings of various sizes. Our 74 guest rooms are currently being restored and updated for the comfort of our patrons.

Recreational opportunities include an outdoor swimming pool, tennis, canoeing on historic French Creek, shuffleboard and a putting green and various indoor activities. For the avid golfers, four eighteen hole golf courses are conveniently located nearby.

Whether for an evenings meal, live entertainment, recreation opportunities, or just some old fashioned rest and relaxation, "Victorian- style," visit the Riverside Inn. "We're just a few pleasant miles from everywhere!"

The Riverside Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places.
